Welcome to this month’s medical article. Trying to keep up with the latest in women’s medicine is challenging. There seem to be two primary stumbling blocks. First, it is a rapidly changing arena in which even the most dedicated of scientists and providers may have differing opinions, even when reviewing the same information and studies. Second, the news media seems to focus on sensational headlines that may not, for better or worse, report the entire story. The purpose of our ongoing article series is to take current information, whether it is in the media headlines, presented in medical journals or even at medical conferences, and make it available to you in an understandable form. Then you decide how you want to use that information. The topics may well be the source of good discussion between you and your provider. Each of these articles will be placed in the Library for future reference.
